For three generations, our family has farmed in Sonoma County. What began as a deep connection to the land as cattle ranchers has evolved into a commitment to crafting expressive wines from our Bavarian Lion Vineyards in Knights Valley over the past 50 years.



We have farmed premium Bordeaux varietals since 1996, selling most of our fruit to prestigious wineries throughout Napa and Sonoma. In 2005, we chose to reserve our highest-quality grapes for our family label.

Knights Valley is one of Sonoma County’s most distinctive winegrowing regions, defined by its warm climate, significant diurnal temperature shifts, nutrient-rich soils, and dramatic terrain between Sonoma’s Alexander Valley and the Napa Valley border near Calistoga.



Formed by ancient volcanic activity and shaped by the movement of the Russian River, the region’s soils trace back millions of years to the Sonoma Volcanics. This unique geology creates ideal conditions for Bordeaux varietals known for their richness and complexity.
