DESCRIPTION

The 2019 Bella’s opens in the glass with aromas of cranberry cocktail and warm, Spring rains falling on the crush pad. The tightly wound tannin core is like a sprinter in the starting blocks, having already “Ready...” and “Set...” and just waiting for the starter’s pistol to unfurl its muscular frame and “GO!!!” The condensed tannin and fruit essences fakes the senses into a sweet sensation. When drawn out on the finish though, this glacéed exhibition is extended into a slatey palate with lilting fruit aromatics that echoes the seriousness of this bottling.

Pairs with

The 2019 Bella’s wine with its earthy, fruity and spicy notes pairs well with dishes that have rich and savory flavors such as grilled meats, hearty stews, and strong cheeses. It would also complement dishes that have a spicy or smoky element to them. Some examples include grilled steak with a black pepper crust, braised short ribs, or a hearty tomato-based pasta dish with sausage. Additionally, it would also pair well with dishes featuring bold and spicy spices such as cumin, smoked paprika, or chili flakes.

Tasting Notes

  • Dried black goji berries
  • Earthy, dust-like note
  • Calcaire
  • Pink peppercorns and cherry compote
  • Firm but forgiving tannins with a juicy umami note on the mid-palate.
